Co-produced with Tiger + Rat New York, this is a draft version of a downtempo sound-collage track that includes samples from talks by Marshall McLuhan (ca. late 1960s, a recording attributed to Alan Anderson, broadcast on CBC's Ideas, and housed since 1995 at http://www.vispo.com/writings/essays/mcluhana.htm), James Boyle ("The public domain," RSA, 10 Mar. 2009, housed at http://www.thersa.org/events/audio-and-past-events/2009/the-public-domain-enclosing-the-commons-of-the-mind), and from Steffen Irlinger's radio drama about Detroit techno, _Copy/Right_ (2008).
The samples each represent far less than 10% of their source recordings and are thus claimed under fair-dealing provisions in Canadian copyright law for the combined purposes of parody, research, and commentary.
You are invited to critique, remix, and/or otherwise creatively rework it however you wish. Please always attribute its source, and if you have time, contact me here to let me know how you use it.
